Summer Food Trips (ep. 2)

29 04 2007

Here’s the second episode of Summer Food Trips…

============================================

VEGETABLE LUMPIA

Ingredients:

  • Tobi™ Garlic Nuts, ground
  • Sugar
  • Baguio Beans, guisado
  • Sayote, guisado
  • Carrots, guisado
  • Chicken Breast, cut into strips
  • Pork strips
  • Lettuce
  • Lumpia wrapper

Directions:
1. Put a leaf of lettuce on the wrapper
2. Mix the ground garlic nuts and the sugar.
3. Put a tablespoonful of the nut mixture on the lettuce. Scatter.
4. Mix the vegetables.
5. Put two tablespoonfuls of the vegetable mixture on the nuts.
6. Put some strips of chicken breast and pork.
7. Put a tablespoonful of the nut mixture above. Scatter.
8. Roll up the lumpia, and it’s ready to eat.

Note:
You may add or remove some ingredients, or you may also change the sequence of the directions. Only the last one must stay in place. It can never be the first =D.  I do it exactly as how I put it in the instructions part, but more people tend to put the pork and chicken before the vegetables. It’s your call anyway.

============================================

This is my favorite dish in my collection. I can actually survive 4 full days eating only this dish (tried and tested) and I just loved it so much that’s why I decided to post it here. =D

I wish you try this dish out and give some feedback by commeting. =)

How is it going?

29 04 2007

Basically the people still visit here because of Sir Martin’s The Two Word Story. Well, I don’t know why, but the story revolves around me. Why?!? =))

Anyway, one month to go before enrolment, which is on May 29. Classes start on June 4. Unbelievable, yet true. Somehow I wish I’m completely wrong on the June 4 thing.

Kailan ba ang orientation?!?

Anyway, I suggest we have a sectioning list put up here in the site as soon as people start knowing their sections.

Yak ang academic ng pinaguusapan ko. =))

So, see you soon. =D

It’s Holy Week and many people are going to go to provinces…

The Two Word Story

1 04 2007

Hey guys! Here’s a little game called “The Two Word Story”.

It’s pretty simple: Just add two words to the story by commenting. No need to quote the person before you. No need to explain. Please wait for someone else to comment before you comment again. (One of these threads I contributed to reached 2,000 comments!)

You may use punctuations to end sentences and start new ones.

Take the story anywhere you want it! I’ll start. :)

Summer Food Trips!

1 04 2007

That’s what my posts will be all about.

I, being a food-inclined person (which explains my weight and my more-than-chubby appearance XDDD,) am willing to share some recipes for your convenience.

I am volunteering to go through all the hardship in recipe-hunting just to share the taste of summer…

============================================

And for my first recipe (taken from my Multiply) which suits the Holy Week because it’s a Seafood and Vegetables recipe…

DEEP FRIED SEAFOOD ROLL

Ingredients:
Filling:
100 grams Squid
150 grams Shrimp
100 grams Fish Fillet (any fish)
80 grams Button Mushroom
150 grams Singkamas
50 grams Carrots
50 grams Celery

Wrapper:
24 pcs. Rice Paper (NOTE: This can be bought in Arranque and supermarkets like SM… but it’s quite hard to find. You CAN NOT replace this ingredient with lumpia wrapper)
200 grams Flour
3 pieces Eggs
200 grams Bread Crumbs

Sauce:
1 1/2 cups Mayonnaise
1/4 cup Condensed Milk

Directions:
1. Cut all ingredients into small cubes
2. Blanch ingredients and drain (TIP ON BLANCHING: put SUGAR, BLACK PEPPER and 1/2 cup of RICE WINE in water used to blanch right before putting in ingredients)
3. In a mixing bowl, combine ingredients & seasoning. Mix well.
4. Wrap mixture in rice paper, make 1/2 x 2 inches.
5. Dredge seafood roll in flour, dip in beaten eggs and roll in bread crumbs
6. Fry in hot oil in medium fire until golden brown, then serve.

There, something pretty sweet, healthy and abstinence-conforming. Make the most out of the Holy Week, and keep holy!

More 300 craaaaaaaaaaaap…

Music for the Mood

1 04 2007

Hi.;)

This is my first post on our batch blog, and from now on my posts will consist mostly of the same content. I’ll either put in a song that is worth recommending or a video worth watching.

Thank you for your time.

Here’s my multiply, by the way. http://indigoalphawolf.multiply.com

Video 1

Discovering the Waterfront – Silverstein

Now this song is not very well-known among Filipinos. It’s a little into the Emo Rock genre, maybe a little too extreme for some. If you could appreciate Story of the year, though, you can appreciate this.;)

Video 2

Will you Ever Learn – Typecast

Now, this song, if ya hear t on the radio, you wouldn’t think it was OPM.This indeed is a breakthrough in OPM. ;)

So these are my video recommendations for this post. Watch if you can. ;)

Edit
Dr, uh, inedit ko for wordpress yung embedded vids. peace-Daryll
